How does the future of the industry look and what are the tools dealers need to prepare for success? NADA Show 2022 attendees are ready to hear your message at our education workshop sessions!
Your Focus: Future Driven
Dealers have their sights on post-pandemic recovery and the future of their business. This means taking an assessment of every department in their dealership and making the right improvements that will place them on the right path moving forward. NADA Show 2022 will support the dealerships of tomorrow by teaching dealers how to hire the best personnel, how to grow the talent they already have, how to stay on top of what customers need and want, and how to be ahead of the trends that people care about.
Designing Your Proposal
- Choose your specific workshop focus from a list of hot industry topics, pre-determined by our NADA subject matter experts.
- Select your workshop presentation style (Interactive or Lecture).
- Select your workshop level based on the content (Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced).
- Prepare your proposal content with the future of the auto industry in mind.
What to Submit
- Your written proposal based on the required criteria
- Your speaker profile information
- Your original 90-second video submission about the proposed NADA Show 2022 workshop (see video submission examples)
Selection Process
Submit your proposal by the June 4, 2021 deadline. Workshops will be selected by our NADA Workshop Selection Committee. Speaker selection notifications will be delivered in July 2021.
Tips for the submission process:
Workshop Title
Workshop titles should not exceed 60 characters (including spaces). Attendees should be able to discern the content from title. Avoid titles that start with “A,” “How to,” or “The.” Verbs should be present-tense, e.g., “Create” not “Creating.” NADA reserves the right to revise all workshop titles.
Your Proposal
For the Workshop Selection Committee to give your proposal proper consideration, please include the following:
- Workshop Synopsis – Clearly state in 150 words or fewer the content that will be covered in the workshop.
- Comprehensive Workshop Description – Provide a complete overview of your workshop, expanding on what you listed under “Workshop Synopsis.”
- Intended Audience – Identify your target audience for this workshop.
- Presentation Activities – Explain the learning techniques you will use in your presentation to connect with your audience.
- Learning Objectives – Provide brief, clear, specific statements of knowledge attendees will gain at the workshop. Define specific tasks using relevant verbs. Do NOT use verbs that are difficult to measure objectively, such as “understand” or “know.” Instead, use verbs such as identify, define, list, interpret, classify, calculate, formulate, apply, solve, prepare, operate, plan, repair, explain, implement or estimate.
- References – List any source references you will use to support your workshop presentation, such as books, white papers, websites or case studies.
Presentation Format
Most workshops are presented by a single speaker, with a maximum of two. Panels have a maximum of four speakers including the moderator.
Workshop Presentation Style and Difficulty Level
Choose between an interactive or lecture style workshop. Interactive workshops involve active audience participation with round table room setup. Lecture workshops are setup in a traditional speaker presentation, theater style. Select the degree of content difficulty for the workshop attendee; beginner, intermediate or advanced.
Selecting a Topic to Submit
Select the appropriate track and topic focus for your workshop; indicate “NADA” if car-related. (See the ATD page for details if your submission is related to commercial trucking). Desired workshop topics are provided on the submission site under the following workshop tracks/categories:
- Fixed Operations
- Human Capital
- Leadership
- Marketing
- Variable Operations
- Digital Super Track
- *New* Business Essentials & Innovations
See the full list of workshop topics under each department/category to learn more.
Adding Speakers
Ensure all speaker profile information is accurate. You must include ALL speakers on this proposal, or your submission will be incomplete. If you are entering more than one speaker, click on “Add New Presenter” once the first speaker name is entered.
Upload Video Link
Create an original video (maximum length 90 seconds) and briefly show the speaker(s) outlining critical workshop takeaways for participants. The video submission is one of the most important items that will determine whether or not the Workshop Selection Committee accepts your proposal.
Submit Proposal
The next screen will be a summary of each section. Any incomplete sections will be noted. If all sections are complete, click “submit proposal.” You will be able to print a copy of the submission and an email confirmation of receipt for your records. The Workshop Selection Committee will meet, and all prospective workshop presenters will be notified with a decision.
Important Note for New Speakers: As a new presenter, we want to be sure you are prepared for a successful workshop. If you have not previously presented an NADA or ATD workshop and your proposal is selected, a feedback session will be scheduled with you and an NADA team member. This will be an opportunity for our subject-matter and learning experts to provide your perspective on the relevance of the content, the presentation and learning tips to best address the audience. The feedback session will take place online via Adobe Connect.
Good luck and thank you for your interest in becoming a NADA Show 2022 educational workshop speaker!
